A baby giant panda has been born for the first time in South Korea.
The country's largest theme park, Everland said Wednesday that the panda couple in the zoo had a female cub two days ago.
The panda couple, Aibao and Lebao had been gifted by Chinese President Xi Jinping in 2016 as a symbol of the two countries' friendship.
As pandas have just one childbearing period each year, it is rare to see one giving birth especially without artificial insemination.
Everland said the mother and baby are both healthy but the cub will not be allowed outside until her immune system is strong enough.
The zoo will upload pictures and videos so that fans can see the cub online.
