Up to 45% discount on face masks at train stations ahead of Chuseok holiday in Korea Updated: 2020-09-21 05:53:22 KST

Train stations will start selling face masks at discounted prices -- slashing up to 45 percent -- before the Chuseok holiday in Korea, when many people travel back to their hometowns to spend the thanksgiving period with their families.
The finance ministry said Sunday that the masks will go on sale from the last week of September at 282 convenience stores in train stations nationwide.
Also, to boost small shop owners and businesses amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the government is encouraging the use of Onnuri gift certificates as corporate gifts for employees to mark the Chuseok holiday.
From Monday, prices will be reduced by 10 percent for both online and offline purchases of the gift certificates.
