Samsung has overtaken the Chinese company Huawei to take back the number one spot in terms of global smartphone sales.
Huawei had surpassed Samsung in the second quarter by a fraction of a percent.
But a report from Counterpoint Research shows Samsung in the third quarter with a market share of 22 percent.
Huawei is second with 14 percent, followed closely by Xiaomi and Apple.
Analysts attribute the jump in sales at Samsung to the new Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy A smartphones and pent up demand from the pandemic.
