The United States continues to see record high daily numbers of COVID-19 cases.
According to data released by Johns Hopkins University, the country recorded over 210-thousand new cases on Thursday.
The death toll also set yet another grim milestone with almost 29-hundred new deaths.
With that, the global death toll has now reached over one.five million.
Europe is also on high alert following a surge in virus cases.
Reporting nearly a thousand new cases on Thursday alone, Italy has imposed travel restrictions between cities for more than two weeks from December 21st.
Japan also confirmed more than two-thousand new cases for nine straight days on Saturday.
