South Korea's Hwang Sun-woo has won the silver medal in the men's 2-hundred meter freestyle at the World Swimming Championships held in Budapest.
Hwang finished the race in 1 minute 44.47 seconds, setting a new South Korean record and a new personal best.
The 19-year-old swimmer finished second, just one.two-six seconds behind Romania's David Popovici.
2020 Olympic Champion, Tom Dean of Britain won the bronze medal.
With this, Hwang became only South Korea's second swimmer to pick up a medal at the biennial event, following Park Tae-hwan's 400 meter golds in 2007 and 2011 and 200m bronze in 2007.
Hwang also became the fourth Asian swimmer to stand on the 200 meter freestyle podium at the championships.
His next race at the event is the men's 100 meter freestyle preliminary, slated for Tuesday afternoon local time.
