South Korea's new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday came to 119,603.
That's over 14-thousand more than the figure last Sunday and an increase of 46-thousand from two weeks ago.
Of today's infections, 4-hundred-60 were in people arriving from overseas.
There were 57 COVID-related deaths, while 5-hundred-12 people are severely ill.
That's the highest number of severe cases since late April.
Around 90 percent of these severe cases are in people 60 and older.
At least some of the rise in infections is due to people traveling for the holiday season and attending concerts and festivals.
So, the health authorities announced last Friday that they'll be strengthening on-site inspections to make sure venues are following the quarantine rules.
