Korea has been grappling with falling birth rates and an ageing population for many years now, but the COVID-19 pandemic may be pushing the country closer to the brink of a full-blown demographic crisis. We sit down with our panel of expert to talk more about the wide-ranging socioeconomic impact of Korea’s shrinking and older population that is forecast in the coming years.
With the latest COVID-19 outbreak here in the country showing no signs of abating, disinfection crews are working around the clock to keep our citizens protected, especially at crowded, indoor venues. We visit a gym in the city of Bucheon, west of Seoul to learn more about the efforts being carried out in this regard.
