The COVID-19 pandemic has been ongoing for a year now and more and more people are raising their voices, saying that we should ponder quarantine measures which adhere to human rights principles. December 10th is Human Rights Day so we sit down with experts to discuss the fine line between quarantine during an unprecedented pandemic and human rights.
Wearing face masks have become mandatory after the COVID-19 outbreak and some countries have implemented border lockdowns. However, people in some countries argue that such measures to stop the spread of the virus are a violation of their civil liberties.
To commemorate Human Rights Day, we take a look at COVID-19 quarantine measures and human rights issues.
