South Korea's Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Gunn met his U.S. counterpart David Stilwell in Washington on Friday to discuss bilateral and regional issues.
The two diplomats reportedly exchanged views on regional security and the allies' ongoing negotiations on sharing the costs of South Korea's defense.
They also agreed to work together on other issues, including cooperation on South Korea's New Southern Policy and the U.S. Indo-Pacific strategy.
Later this month, there are plans for South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha to meet with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
