S. Korea lowers travel alert for Hong Kong
Updated: 2020-01-17 16:54:33 KST
South Korea has lowered its travel alert for Hong Kong as the city has shown signs of easing tensions over the pro-democracy protests.
Seoul's foreign ministry has adjusted the alert from its second level to its first level,…which calls for caution among all South Korean nationals in, or planning to travel to, Hong Kong due to safety concerns.
The second level 'yellow' travel alert had been in place since last November, calling on people to reconsider traveling to Hong Kong and those staying there to pay extra attention to their personal safety.
The ministry added it will keep a close eye on the security situation.
