South Korea's professional football league The K League says 3.4 million people streamed last week's season's opener on Twitter.
In addition, around 2-hundred 30-thousand YouTube tuned in to the match between two big rivals, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors and Suwon Samsung Bluewings with Jeonbuk scoring the only goal in the dying minute.
The total number of viewers is almost certainly much more considering 36 countries broadcast the game through their respective local sports channels.
Such international interest comes as many pro football leagues have been suspended due to COVID-19, but the K League decided to start first without any spectators in the stadiums.
