South Korea ends weekly mask-purchasing restrictions
Updated: 2020-07-12 14:07:15 KST
Starting today, there will no longer be lines outside pharmacies in Korea of people wanting to buy face masks.
The government has ended the rationing system that had been in place for months at certain retailers to prevent a shortage.
Under this system, everyone had an assigned day on which they could buy a limited number of masks at the pharmacy, the post office and a few other places.
Those restrictions are gone now that South Korea has an ample supply of medical-grade masks.
