Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will attend the Beijing Winter Olympics in February, in his role as chair of the International Olympic Committee Ethics Commission.
According to his aide, Ban expressed a willingness to attend the Games during an interview with Chinese state media.
Speaking to Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency, his aide said Ban's attendance is a matter for the chair of IOC ethics commission, not a representative of a country.
Ban was re-elected for a four-year term in July, a position he's held since 2017.
