South Korea and the U.S. have held a Senior Economic Dialogue to discuss several issues including supply chains.
Earlier on Friday, Seoul's second vice foreign minister Choi Jong-moon met U.S. Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment, Jose Fernandez, in Seoul.
At the meeting, the American official said the semiconductor shortage caused by COVID-19 has put a spotlight on South Korea as a leader in global chip supply chains, adding the country has much more to offer the global economy.
As a follow-up to the Moon-Biden summit in May, they also reportedly discussed cooperation on science and technology, combating COVID-19 and the climate crisis.
