South Korea is set to be the ninth largest contributor to the UN's budget.
According to Seoul's foreign ministry, the nation's contributions will account for more than 2.5 percent of the global body's total budgets for regular and peacekeeping operations from 2022 to 2024.
In terms of the budget percentage, that's a 3.7 fold increase compared to 1991 when South Korea first joined the UN.
The country aims to assume greater responsibilities on the international stage in line with its higher global status.
The UN's three biggest contributors are the U.S., China and Japan.
