South Korea's foreign minister Chung Eui-yong pledged today that the government will do its utmost to achieve an early resumption of talks with North Korea.
In a press briefing, Chung said the Moon administration will do its best until the very end to render the Korean Peninsula peace process "irreversible," based on the government's achievements during the past four years.
He added that Seoul had hoped the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics would serve as an opportunity to resume talks with North Korea, but said that now appears unlikely.
