South Korean forward Son Heung-min of English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur has become the first Asian player to win the league's Golden Boot after ending the season with a total of 23 goals.
Son netted twice in Tottenham's 5-nil victory over Norwich at Carrow Road on Sunday, on the season's final day.
Son's dazzling performance, helped his team secure fourth position in the EPL as well as a coveted place in next season's Champions League.
Following the victory, he told BBC Sport that it was emotional to win the award, which was something he had dreamt of as a child.
Now, South Korea has become the 13th nation to provide a Premier League Golden Boot winner, following countries including England, France, Egypt and Senegal.
Son tied with Mohamed Salah of Liverpool as the League's top scorers.
Both scored 23 goals.
Remarkably, none of Son's were from penalty kicks, while five of Salah's were.
While Son's right foot is said to be his strongest, he managed to score 12 left-footed goals, over the course of the season.
Son was also crowned 'King of the Match' for the 14th time this season against Norwich, winning over 76 percent of the votes.
'King of the Match' is awarded to the game's best performer and is decided by an online fan's vote.
