South Korea this year comes in at forty-three in this year's ranking of the most peaceful countries in the world, the Global Peace Index up 8 spots from last year.
According to the list released on Thursday, the most peaceful country in the world is Iceland, followed by New Zealand and the Republic of Ireland.
The list is from Australia's Institute for Economics and Peace, and uses 23 indicators, such as the level of violent crime, the impact of terrorism, and the number of deaths from external conflict.
North Korea is number 152, while Ukraine is 153 and Russia number 160.
The United States was number 129.
