World News: Thousands of Dutch farmers protest against emissions targets

A protest against the Dutch government's plan to curb emissions has seen thousands of farmers gather in central Netherlands.
Travel to the demonstration's location in the agricultural village of Stroe on Wednesday, saw farmers use their tractors to slow traffic on major highways.
The protest comes amid new targets to limit nitrogen oxide and ammonia levels associated with high-concentration livestock farming.
But farmers claim the mandates will negatively impact those working in the agricultural sector and will likely see some farmers reduce livestock numbers or get rid of them altogether.
The new mandates require a 70-percent reduction near some protected nature areas, going as high as 95-percent in other locations.
