This year, the Korea Sale Festa, an annual shopping event, is going non-contact, and the hope is it'll boost spending and the economy.
Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki said Monday that the Korea Sale Festa will run from November 1st to the 15th, mainly online and through non-contact platforms like home shopping and drive-thru stores.
The government will also cut taxes for certain stores.
Minister Hong said the retail campaign is aimed at helping small business owners in particular.
