Japan looking to lift state of emergency in all regions at end of month: NHK Updated: 2021-09-28 09:34:18 KST

Japan reportedly plans to lift its COVID-19 state of emergency, which covers 19 prefectures including Tokyo, at the end of September.
This according to local broadcaster NHK on Monday.
If given the nod, it would end a nearly six month-long lockdown in certain areas and more than two months for Tokyo.
Currently, restaurants have to close early and can't serve alcohol.
There's also an advisory against traveling around the country.
The move comes as Japan has been reporting around 2-thousand cases a day for the past week.
During the summer, Japan was seeing up to 25-thousand cases a day.
