UN Panel approves sanction exemption for UNICEF aid project for N. Korea Updated: 2021-12-09 21:28:54 KST

A UN Security Council panel on Thursday approved sanctions exemptions for UNICEF medical aid for North Korea.
That's around one.five million U.S. dollars' worth of materials, including COVID-19 vaccine cold chain equipment, ventilators, masks and thermometers that are mostly made in China.
These items will be shipped via the Chinese port of Dalian to the regime's western port of Nampo.
The exemptions were approved on November 30th and will last for one year.
The North has yet to receive international medical support, including vaccines offered by the COVAX Facility.
