The United States has kept North Korea on its list of state sponsors of terrorism.
In its latest Country Reports on Terrorism 2020, the U.S. State Department said Thursday that the regime has failed to take action to address historical support for acts of international terrorism.
A official says this is why North Korea remains on the list along with Iran and Syria, adding the regime's behavior remains problematic.
The North was re-designated as a state sponsor of terrorism in 2017, after it was removed from the list in 2008 following the initial designation back in 1988.
