For the 17th straight year, the UN has adopted a resolution on North Korea's human rights abuses, condemning its systematic and gross human rights violations.
Adopted by consensus at the General Assembly, it expresses concern over persistent reports of "torture and other cruel, inhumane or degrading treatment."
Also calls for the North to shut political prison camps and to work with international bodies to ensure delivery of COVID-19 vaccines.
The North's ambassador called the resolution a serious violation of the regime's sovereignty, insisting the accusations are false.
