South Korean battery maker, LG Energy Solution, is set to build its third electric vehicle battery factory in the United States.
According to the company on Tuesday, 2.1 billion U.S. dollars will be spent to build the facility as part of an equal, joint venture with General Motors.
Two plants are already being built, one in Ohio and one in Tennessee, with operations set to begin as early as this year.
The South Korean company says that it plans to invest more than 4 billion dollars by 2024 to expand its presence in the States.
The announcement comes ahead of its listing on South Korea's KOSPI.
