Over in Mexico, journalists on Tuesday began a nationwide protests to denounce the recent murders of three reporters, calling for an end to the impunity that has often characterized the killings of their colleagues.
The latest protests come as journalist Lourdes Maldonado was shot and killed on Sunday, with no arrests made, just three years after she told the president that she feared for her life.
President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has long been criticized for not doing more to protect reporters, but said his government would investigate and prevent further murders of journalists.
