In its regular briefing held today, the presidential National Security Council said it discussed the security situation following North Korea's recent ballistic missile launch.
Cheong Wa Dae said it'll closely communicate with the international community and strengthen the defense posture based on the firm South Korea, U.S. military alliance.
The NSC discussed the return of U.S. military bases to Korea including the return of some parts of the Yongsan Garrison during the first half this year.
The returned land is slated to be turned into a national park.
The council also discussed the war in Ukraine including Seoul's plan to provide aid as well as the possibility of implementing sanctions against Russia.
