Google has discovered that North Korean hackers made multiple attempts to hack major news media, crypto-banks, and IT companies in the U.S.
According to the firm's malware hunting team, Threat Analysis Group, two separate Pyeongyang-backed hacker groups had been exploiting a critical, technical flaw in the Chrome web browser since early January.
The hackers are assumed to have used the "zero-day" computer software vulnerability to install malware.
One of the hacking campaigns targeted more than two-hundred-fifty individuals from ten different companies.
Google said it patched the flaw in February, and added it did not spot any significant activities after the cyber attacks.
