The global COVID-19 vaccine-sharing facility has completely cut its vaccine allocation for North Korea for this year,.. as the North did not engage with the program.
Citing a spokesperson from COVAX, Radio Free Asia reports that the move comes as the facility shifts towards a needs-based allocation.
While some 1.5 million doses were set aside for the North this year, the regime neither arranged shipments nor did it respond to communications.
North Korea is not thought to have imported any COVID-19 vaccines, and insists they haven't had any cases.
However, COVAX said it's still working toward running a vaccination program in the North.
