South Korea's COVID-19 daily tally fell below the 20-thousand mark for the first time in more than 100 days.
On Monday the country reported slightly over 13-thousand new infections amid the weekend factor.
SEPARATELY health authorities here have agreed to offer COVID-19 treatment pills to more patients.
Starting on this Monday Pfizer's Paxlovid will be given to teenagers and adults with pre-existing health conditions.
Also Merck's Lagevrio has been approved for COVID-19 patients in Korea and will be available to adults with underlying medical conditions.
Previously these drugs were only administered to senior patients over 60 or those over 40 who are immunocompromised.
