President Yoon Suk-yeol held a lunch meeting with leaders from seven different religious groups.
During the session he emphasized national unity and social integration.
"The task of the era includes national unity. I ask religious communities to play a greater role for the integration that can embrace ideologies, regions, and generations. The ultimate goal of the state affairs is national unity, and to reflect national interest and people's perspectives."
Yoon has created a presidential secretary office in charge of religion and multicultural affairs to hear from various religious groups.
The President thanked the religious leaders for their devotion and caring for the people amid the pandemic.
