U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Stephen Biegun arrived in South Korea this afternoon for a three-day visit.
Upon arrival, he refused to comment when asked about recent developments with Pyeongyang or whether he plans to meet with North Korean officials.
On Monday, he will sit down with his South Korean counterpart Lee Do-hoon to discuss ways to revive nuclear talks with Pyeongyang, and achieve lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Biegun has also been invited to the Blue House by President Moon Jae-in, which would mark the second time the pair has met one-on-one.
Eyes are on whether he will rendezvous with North Korean officials at the inter-Korean border village of Panmunjeom during his trip, to try and diffuse escalating tensions between Pyeongyang and Washington.
