Time now to get a check on the weather.
Let's go over to our Lee Seung-min at the Weather Center.
Seung-min, we had cloudy spells here in the capital and slightly lower temperatures in the daytime. Tell us more.
Sure, Jung-hee. It's ironic because today actually marks 'Soseo' in South Korea, which means that the summer heatwave has officially started. But due to cloudy spells, we had relatively cool temperatures today. Tomorrow will be scorching again though. A heatwave advisory has been issued for parts of the southeast already and this is set to continue for tomorrow.
For tonight, showers are expected in parts of Gangwon-do and Gyeongsang-do provinces. 5 to 20 millimeters are expected in these regions and 20 to 60 millimeters are expected on Jeju island tonight.
Thanks to the rain, there won't be any worries about fine dust tomorrow. However, UV rays are set to soar to ‘very high’ levels nationwide and even 'extreme' levels in some parts of Jeju. Make sure to wear plenty of sunblock at all times.
For tomorrow, Seoul will begin the day at 22 degrees Celsius, Daegu and Gyeongju at 21.
Daytime highs in Seoul will reach 31 degrees, Daegu will hit 31 and Gyeongju 30.
A rainy front is set to arrive on Friday, bringing nationwide rain to the Korean peninsula.
I'll leave you with the weather conditions around the world.
