269,510 new COVID-19 cases reported in N. Korea over past day: State media Updated: 2022-05-17 06:22:23 KST

North Korea reported on Tuesday nearly 2-hundred-70-thousand new cases of COVID-19 or what the regime is labeling as a "fever of unknown cause".
The state-run Korean Central News Agency added that six more people died over the most recent 24 hour period.
Despite this, it added that over one-hundred-70-thousand people have fully recovered.
Experts warn, however, that the true number of cases is likely much higher considering the lack of testing kits in the North.
In the meantime, the military has started round-the-clock operations of delivering medicine to pharmacies in Pyeongyang.
Reports suggest the North recently bought medical supplies from China, signaling the regime may have known about the spread before last week when it announced its first official case of COVID-19.
