Satellite image shows activity at N. Korea's Yongbyon nuclear site: Report Updated: 2021-03-31 10:10:03 KST

A newly-released satellite image shows smoke or steam coming from two small buildings within North Korea's Yongbyon nuclear facility, in an indication the lab is operational.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies' 'Beyond Parallel' project says it's where the regime reprocesses spent fuel rods to extract plutonium for use in nuclear bombs.
Activity has been observed at the plant over the past month.
The website said smoke or steam is rarely caught by commercial satellites.
