U.S. top intelligence official says N. Korea may conduct provocation to pressure U.S., allies Updated: 2021-04-30 05:58:43 KST

North Korea may resume missile and nuclear testing to put pressure on the U.S. and its allies, including South Korea.
This is according to the head of the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency in a written report to the Senate Armed Services Committee.
He added that the scope of the regime's next provocation will largely depend on the amount of pressure Kim Jong-un deems necessary.
The U.S. official said North Korea could cite the Seoul-Washington joint military exercise as a justification for the provocations it's planning.
