Four-time Grand Slam tennis champion Naomi Osaka has withdrawn from the French Open.
Making the announcement on Twitter on Monday the 23-year-old Japanese Tennis player officially pulled out of the competition and will take a break from tennis due to "long bouts of depression."
This comes after Osaka was fined 15-thousand U.S. dollars for skipping the press conference after her first-round win at the clay tournament in Paris.
In her statement on Twitter, she also brought up she has been dealing with depression since the 2019 U.S. Open.
Meanwhile, French tennis federation president said Monday that the organization felt sorry and sad for her and wished her the best and a quick recovery.
