Starting this year, the city of Seoul is going to give vouchers to new parents in the city worth two million Korean won, or about 17 hundred dollars, to help with the financial costs of starting families.
The policy, announced today, applies to all babies born this year whose parents have registered them as residents of the city.
To sign up for a voucher, go to the website you see on the screen or visit your local community service center.
The vouchers can be used like cash at any business except entertainment and leisure venues, like bars and singing rooms.
