Brent crude hits $90 for first time in 7 years Updated: 2022-01-27 06:11:57 KST

Brent crude touched 90 U.S. dollars a barrel for the first time in seven years on Wednesday amid tight supplies and the rising geopolitical tensions between Russia and Ukraine.
Brent rose 2.4 percent on the day,.. breaking the 90 mark for the first time since October 2014.
West Texas Intermediate was up 2.6 percent to nearly 88 dollars a barrel.
Analysts say Washington-Moscow tensions and sky-high demand will likely cause prices to rise even further in the weeks to come.
