South Korea on Tuesday reported its highest number of COVID-19 cases in 40 days at a little over 18-thousand.
That's almost three times the number reported the day before.
Experts say the number could go much higher in the coming months as immunity waves and people travel around for summer vacation.
There were 2 more COVID-related deaths.
Slightly over 50 people were severely ill.
