At the Yongsan presidential office this afternoon, President Yoon met with Edward J. Markey, the chair of the Senate's Foreign Relations Subcommittee on East Asia and Pacific.
Markey said the Seoul-Washington ties will deepen both economically and strategically, following U.S. President Joe Biden's signing this week of the Chips and Science Act.
President Yoon also met with former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
According to the presidential office, the two exchanged opinions on North Korea's nuclear weapons as well as the security situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula.
