A North Korean cargo ship, assumed to be under UN sanctions, sank on Saturday in the East Sea.
Japan Coast Guard confirmed with Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency that the 55-hundred-ton cargo ship sank after capsizing.
All 21 crewmembers managed to get to a lifeboat, and were later rescued by a nearby North Korean tanker.
Saying they believe the vessel was carrying over 6-thousand tons of steel, Japanese authorities have launched a probe.
