South Korea's intel chief is en route to the U.S., reportedly to discuss follow-up measures to the recent South Korea-U.S. summit.
Sources say National Intelligence Service chief Park Jie-won plans to visit New York and Washington to discuss Korean Peninsula affairs with intelligence officials there.
The U.S. is said to have reached out to North Korea, and is now waiting for any response from the regime.
A few weeks ago, Washington's intel chief Avril Haines met with Park during her trip to South Korea.
She also met with Seoul's National Security Advisor and paid a courtesy call on President Moon.
