South Korea reported 507 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, staying in the 500s for the third straight day.
Of the new cases, all but 23 were locally transmitted.
Two more patients have died of the virus, bringing the death toll to 1,996.
The total number of cases recorded has now surpassed the 150-thousand mark.
As the nation ramps up vaccination efforts, more than 14 million people, or some 28 percent of the population, have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine as of this morning.
