South Korea's finance minister says he'll ensure COVID-19 relief funds are paid out quickly, especially for small business owners, considering the difficulties they are facing.
Hong Nam-ki took to social media to say payments will start as soon as August 17th.
In the pandemic relief package, about 4-and-a-half billion U.S. dollars has been set aside for small merchants and firms whose revenues have plunged due to distancing rules.
They will get payments of up to 17-thousand dollars, and eligibility has been expanded to another 650-thousand more businesses.
