S. Korean pianist Lim Yun-chan wins gold at 2022 Van Cliburn Competition

South Korean pianist Lim Yun-chan has been crowned the winner of the 2022 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition, becoming the youngest ever gold medalist in the so-called Olympics of Piano.
The 18-year-old, who started competing as a pianist at 14, played Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No. 3.
Lim will receive a prize of 100-thousand U.S. dollars along with three years of personal career management, including U.S. and international concert tours, and he'll record a studio album.
Russian pianist Anna Geniushene took the silver, and the bronze medal went to Ukrainian pianist Dmytro Choni.
