Sales of diesel cars imported to South Korea have been hit due to increased demand for eco-friendly vehicles.
According to Seoul's (Car-is-you)Carisyou data lab on Wednesday, diesel cars made up only 18-percent of the total number of imported cars sold in the country last year.
This is the first time in 13 years that the figure fell below 20-percent.
Diesel cars made up almost 70-percent of total imported car sales in 2015 but there has been a constant decline since then.
Last year, more than 23-thousand imported electric cars were sold in South Korea, with more expected to be sold this year.
