S. Korea reports 137,241 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday Updated: 2022-08-11 11:51:11 KST

On the pandemic front.
Health authorities have announced over 137-thousand new COVID-19 infections on this Thursday.
The latest daily tally is a slight decline from the day prior but authorities warn the tally is likely to rise to as high as 200-thousand in mid-August.
Meanwhile 59 people lost their lives to the virus over the past 24 hours and 4-hundred-18 patients remain in critical care.
Authorities have also reaffirmed their intentions to bolster prevention efforts at high-risk facilities including long-term care facilities.
